The Stair Wall to Clouds:

From the earliest days of my existence, a longing consumed me—an insatiable desire to touch those billowing clouds that graced the sky. With each ascent up the staircase of our humble abode, I yearned for a ladder, one that could bridge the gap between me and the cotton candy heavens I so dearly cherished. Though my connection with the sky felt distant, my heart burned with an intense yearning to reach out and brush against those celestial wonders. Through this longing, I forged a deep bond with the ethereal clouds, the vast cerulean expanse above, and even the tempestuous storms that occasionally rumbled through. I fondly remember seeking refuge in my father's embrace at the first sign of thunder. Yet, even after he departed for the stars, the thunderous roars provided a sense of comfort, a reminder of his enduring presence. Perhaps the gentle serenity accompanies their turbulent displays, offering solace amidst the chaos of life below.

A Home Full of Memories:

I love my home, and it's been a constant presence throughout all stages of my life. From being a toddler to growing up and taking on responsibilities, my connection to this house started before I even understood my own feelings. As Hindus, we have a tradition of welcoming a holy cow into the house, making it auspicious with its dung. When I was very little, I was excited to see the cow and followed it around. By mistake, I stepped into its litter and started crying, only to be put in a tub filled with Dettol water funny, I know.

I always had a fantasy of hugging my whole house. Since that wasn’t possible, I would hug the corners with my two hands. My mother often caught me doing this and couldn’t understand why. The day we moved out of that house is still vivid in my memory. We couldn’t bear to leave, and my mom was shattered, but we had no choice. Life goes on, but my love for the house that showed me what life is will never end.
